Alumni Interview Request Form for First-Year Students

We are offering virtual alumni interviews for all first-year applicants with an entry term of Fall 2025 who attend high school in the United States. Alumni interviews are 20-30 minute conversations with a Swarthmore alum. After the conversation, the interviewer will submit a summary report to be included in your application file.

Why should you interview with us? While your application gives us a lot of information, a face-to-face conversation helps us learn more about you as an individual and allows you to learn more about Swarthmore. Interviews are optional. Applicants who choose not to interview are not at a disadvantage, and Swarthmore does not consider ‘demonstrated interest’ in our application review process. If students do choose to interview, all interview formats (fellow, alum, on-campus, or virtual) are viewed the same and students should select the option that best fits their needs.

Please note that you may only interview once. Students requesting an alumni interview should not schedule an additional on-campus or virtual fellow interview appointment.

Requesting a Virtual Alumni Interview
Please fill out the form below to request a virtual alumni interview. This information will be used to match you with an alumni admissions representative. Once the match is made, both you and the alumni representative will receive an email with further instructions detailing the process going forward. Please check your email spam folder to make sure that the email has not been directed there.

Requests for virtual alumni interviews will be accepted until the following deadlines:

Students who are interested in applying for Fall Early Decision must request a virtual alumni interview by November 1, 2024.
Students who are interested in applying for Winter Early Decision or Regular Decision must request a virtual alumni interview by December 2, 2024.

Please note that all interviews will be conducted virtually, so you must have access to a video conferencing tool such as Zoom.

Please note that it can take up to 3 weeks to find an available alumni admissions representative and to make the match. We request your patience during this time. Submission of this form does not guarantee that you will receive an interview. We will do our best to accommodate your request.
