Student Program Descriptions

Jump Off the Page** How might you “stand out” in an application? Ever wonder what happens after you apply for admission? In this interactive session, join admissions deans to take apart an application. We will focus on some of the components that are key in a holistic admissions process and that you control as an applicant – including your essays, short-answer questions, and (if you choose to complete one), an interview. Come ready to jump in and leave with a plan for how to complete your own applications.
Swarthmore Information Session What makes Swarthmore unique? What is the Honors Program? What about research or study abroad? An admissions dean will walk you through life at the College (plus, there will be time for all of your Swarthmore-related questions).

Financial Aid 101 Wondering about how to apply for financial aid? What do all of these acronyms (like SAI or FAFSA) mean? This financial aid information session can help! From gaining a basic understanding of financial aid lingo to learning what questions to ask financial aid officers, this presentation will cover all the bases to help you understand financial aid

Scott Arboretum Tour Encompassing more than 300 acres of the Swarthmore College campus, the Scott Arboretum exhibits more than 4,000 ornamental plants, trees, shrubs, vines, and perennials. Take a tour with one of the Arboretum staff members to learn more about the natural beauty on campus. Be sure to bring your camera! (Please note, space for this session is highly limited to provide for the best tour experience.)

Supporting Your Students: Admissions Process Q&A Join us for a chance to ask your pressing questions about the college admissions process at this session designed for family members and supporters of high school juniors. Whether you are new to the college admissions experience, or you have already guided another child through this journey, we look forward to your perspective in this conversation.
